Today is the first death anniversary of the exemplary Gentleman AK Subbaiah. In his memory, his son AS Ponnanna took the legacy forward by launching a series of social service initiatives in Kodagu today. A memorial for AK Subbaiah was unveiled at Konageri, Hudikeri today in the presence of hundreds. Later, ration kits were distributed through the AK Subbaiah-Ponnamma Trust at Santhemala, Napoklu. More programmes are scheduled in the next two days.

 

 

AS Ponnanna chaired his first meeting as the chairperson of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Legal, Human Rights and RTI Wing today. Members of the Wing who were present said his dynamic leadership was much required for the Party's fight against divisive forces.

 

 

AS Ponnanna is part of the Congress team led by KPCC President DK Shivakumar, which is meeting the flood victims and assessing the relief measures taken by the administration in Kodagu. This photo is from today's visit to Talakaveri, one of the worst affected places in Kodagu.

 

 

KPCC President DK Shivakumar formally handed over the safety kits for the Aarogya Sahaya Hasta programme to the young Congress volunteers from Kodagu last evening. At this event, AS Ponnanna handed over his contribution to the Aarogya Hasta programme through a cheque. The Aarogya Hasta programme is initiated by the Congress party to bring awareness among the people about the precautions needed to stop the spread of the Coronavirus. Around 15,000 Corona Warriors belonging to the Congress party are creating awareness about the virus across Karnataka. All of them have been provided with health insurance and safety kits.
