ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯರವರು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ‌ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ವಿಧಾನಸೌಧ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದು ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿ ಜಯಂತಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಬುಡಕಟ್ಟು ಜನಾಂಗದಿಂದ ಸಮಾಜದ ಮುನ್ನೆಲೆಗೆ ಬಂದು, ನಿರಾಶ್ರಿತರಿಗೆ ದಿಡ್ಡಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲು ಹೋರಾಟ ಮಾಡಿ ಯಶಸ್ಸು ಗಳಿಸಿದ, ಕೊಡಗಿನ ವಿರಾಜಪೇಟೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಜೆ.ಕೆ ಮುತ್ತಮ್ಮರವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
